As a Wave client, your website is already optimised for search engines like Google and Bing. This means you don’t need to make any changes to your SEO settings.
However, if you wish to adjust how your site appears on search engines, you can use the 'SEO Settings' section for general optimisation.

Important Note:
We strongly recommend not changing general SEO settings unless you are an SEO expert. Making changes without understanding their impact could affect how your website is seen by search engines and reduce its visibility.
'General Settings'
- In the Layout tab, check if 'Display character counters?' is ticked. This will provide recommendations on whether the text will fit in search engine results.
- In the Timestamps tab, make sure the date with a timestamp is selected for better analysis or investigations into changes.
- In the Exclusion tab, you can hide or unhide specific post types from search engines. If you wish to hide a specific page or article, navigate to that page and select 'noindex' from the SEO Settings - Visibility tab.
'Title Settings'
- Choose the separator you would like to use for Meta Titles on your website.

- Select whether you prefer your site name to appear on the left or right of the title. You can also change the Company/Brand name in the Site Title field.

Description Meta Settings
- Ensure that 'Automatically generate description' is ticked. This ensures that for every page or post without a defined meta description, one will be generated automatically based on the content. It will only generate descriptions for pages and posts. It uses AI, and the descriptions are not stored anywhere, so they are regenerated every time the page loads.

Homepage Settings
- These settings will override any other page title or meta description set up on the homepage.
- You can define the meta title and description.
- Define the text and image for shared links on social media.

Social Meta Settings
- If you are using social media share buttons on your website, you can set them up so that every time your post or page is shared on Facebook, your Facebook profile will automatically be followed and liked.

Schema.org Settings
- This determines how search engines will see your organisation in search results.
- Make sure the company name and logo are correct.

- If your business has active social media accounts, you can connect them here.

Robots Meta Settings
- Here, you can change which post types should be indexed, not indexed, or set to 'nofollow'.

Webmaster Integration Settings
- Add verification codes from Search Console to gain insights into your website's performance.

Sitemap Settings
- If you wish to view the sitemap, click the link 'View the base sitemap'.
- You can also check your robots.txt file.
- You can change the style of the sitemap.
